Petit Jean Color is starting
Hey guys...Like Bill's previous post, I wanted to show you the undergrowth color is starting already in the Arkansas River Valley. I was actually kind of surprised to see it this early down here. At this point it is just the dogwoods starting to turn. This is on the Boy Scout trail that starts at Davies Bridge and follows Cedar Creek.

Kansas has a few waterfalls; not as many as Arkansas. I'll eventually attach one from the flint hills.

Nice shot, Karla. I think if the water lasts the leaves will be better. Hope the hike wasn't too long to get there!!!

Really nice, Karla. Looks like you have a bit more water down your way. Thanks for the update.

Karla I really like the "S" curve of the stream and the touch of red in the leaves really makes for a beautiful combo.

Awesome composition, Karla. You had some nice soft lighting too.

I went by last thursday afternoon and didn't bother with the trail since everything looked mostly green. The falls were flowing like it was springtime. I was planning on going to Richland creek this week. Maybe I'll swing through Petit Jean again.

Very nice, Karla!

I need to stop by there on my way to Holla Bend more often!

Karla, this is a wonderful shot. I really like how the branch leads me into the photo. I find myself wondering what is beyond where the water is coming from.

Very pretty Karla.

Thanks everyone for the comments. If anyone does decide to go on Cedar Creek, don't expect a lot of color. It is just now starting to turn, and not much at that. I think it will still be several weeks before great color everywhere. I will try to keep the forum posted on the progress. Green conditions pretty much right now.
