First Light
I took this one on Saturday morning as first light hit Long's. I couldn't believe how warm it was, and how little wind was blowing. A great morning I shared with my 15 year old grandson. Life is good.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking.

Nice colors. I like the shot, but my eyes keep getting pulled back to that tree trunk on the left side of the image.

Morris I really like it. Colors and comp are superb. I don't agree with Brian about the trunk on the left. However, I notice the grad filter line and dark trunk above it. I have found that if I am careful with the brush tool in Lightroom, I can lighten dark spots like that. Otherwise, great shot and so nice you can share it with your grandson. I have three of those.

I see what Brian means and while it is a slight distraction, I think the image as a whole is really quite nice. Love the vibrant yellow aspen leaves framing Long's.

I like the framing using the trees. Colors are great too.

A very nice image. On top of the issues already discussed, I think you've got some chromatic aberration issues you should address between the mountains and sky.

I actually like this one alot more then the one posted on the weekly challenge. I like the way the aspens kind of meet in the center of the frame

Great meeting you, Morris, and you got a much better shot than any of the bits I found on my camera after that morning  . Great framing with the trees *AND* the rocks (note how the line on the right one leads to the summit of Longs). I need to hang with you more often!

Great shot Morris.
This one has that definite "McClung" look and feel to it.
Great color, lighting, formatting, etc., etc.
One is drawn right into the image and Long's Peak.

Nice shot Morris. This segues me into wondering where you putting all these d@mn fine images?!? Huh? What gives buddy? Because I don't see any of the new stuff on your site.

These are the questions and I hope the answers are good.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions, and I will work on all of the issues you sharp eyed individuals brought up. Paul, it was truly a pleasure to meet you, too, and to shoot with you. Hurry up and post something, and I know you had to get something good.
Art, I need to update the website badly. Nothing newer than 3 years ago on there. I'm thinking about getting a site on Smugmug. It seems easier and cheaper to update and for people to buy prints. Any advice from anyone who uses them?

I like the soft tones and framing. The grad issue is easily fixed and that was my only hang up. Makes me want to call in sick tomorrow morning. This storm might make for some good snow/aspen images.
