Royce and Feather Peaks reflected in early dawn light this past Sunday morning. Sorry no run through the NR software yet but it was such a nice sight to see and well worth the effort of trying to get there and back in a short almost 24 hour trip. There wasn't a soul around except for Floris off at the next lake over. This was a quick long exposure grab shot on the way to photograph Mirriam Peak before it became lit in Alpen Glow.
That granite just lit up didn't it, what an awesome place! Can't wait for a winter adventure

Man I wish I could have made that trip. I love the color palette and general starkness of the image. Definitely makes me feel like I'm catching first light amongst the Sierra. Well done!

Beautiful scene. Very calming. I like the smoothness in the sky and water after the noise reduction, but prefer the pre-noise shadow/contrast on the peaks. I like the greater detail in the mountains with decreased exposure - probably just me because I tend to underexpose my photographs which is a habit from film. Looks like time well spent with nature. Thanks for the post.

Thanks guys,
David, I wiped off the NR fix in the top portion of mountain so it should be the same but I see what you mean about the darkening. I'll have to touch up that part. Thanks for the feedback.

Great light and scenery Steve. Is this from Royce Lake? Did you get there for Pine Creek Pass? Haven't been back there yet, but would like to try Italy Pass one of these days. Looks like a good hike to get back there in a day.

Rudy, Cross coutry straight up the drainage from Honeymoon Lake. I'm still sore. I haven't been up and over Pine Creek Pass yet. I have been up near Italy pass though.

Steve,
Simply gorgeous. Tranquil has already been used, so I'll have to say... tranquil. :-)

Really peaceful image Steve. The lighting/alpenglow is just beautiful! Comp-wise I do feel it to be a bit cramped on the sides, but since I'm the first to say this don't think too much of it. Its been a while since I've headed up to that area (the trip I planned earlier in the year faded into oblivion), and I've been dying to spend a few more days up there ever since. Thanks for sharing

That's ok Greg, just a grab while on the way to shoot Mirriam Peak. I did try a vertical too though.
