Drove up to Log Hill overlooking the valley and the Sneffles Range.

Peak color is to be had now if your color is green. There was virtually nothing showing on the West side of Owl Creek, or the
North side of the Sneffles range.

The weather was crappy for photos, but I made you a panorama
that will help you ascertain the exact state of the color show.

This coincides with an observation just posted in the 'Fall Foliage' thread.
Nice to see an image that backs that up.

Thanks, Art. The pano summarizes the conditions very well.

Art, you are the man. Now if you could do this every few days for the next 14 days that would be awesome - mmmkay  Looks like early Oct - 2nd weekend for peak color down there at this point. The mountians need more snow too.

Seriously, thanks for the pic as it really helps determine how things are progressing.

Considering that I had to wait until Oct 8 last year to get this similar shot from Log Hill, that doesn't surprise me. It seems the color change in the Sneffels Range is happening a little later every year now. Pretty bizarre. Thanks for the condition update though.
