This was shot Saturday morning up near Subrina. It's a few of the smaller aspens that have turned a little early but in the photo you can see the more vibrant healthier aspens in the background completely unchanged. It pretty normal to have a few change this early up there at the higher elevations (10k-9k). Floris was cruching around nearby and I had to make sure he wasn't in my backgrounds! J/K
I shot a few horizontals and stiched them together. Let me know if the colors (white balance wise) and comp work out you, I don't shoot trees as often as I would like.
Maybe it's blasphemous, but I think I prefer the varied colors of the aspens like you have here than if everything is just blazing yellow... adds a lot more interest. Good use of the rock as an anchor and the aspens as frames, it was a tough spot to shoot. The white balance looks spot on to me. I don't know if I can wait a few weeks to play in the aspens again!

Hey Steve Trees are like bunnies shoot em as much as you like they don't shoot back. Just kidding....I can't contain myself sometimes....I kind of agree with Floris, all of the colors make a more interesting shot up close like this and I like the rock with the lichens.

I like the pano look of this image. The variation and color combination is wonderful. I like the way the aspens bookend the lichen covered rock. Cloning or burning down that branch in the LLC might be nice, but this more than works for me as presented. Good stuff!
