Alaska Range
Hadn't posted images lately since I have been traveling. Looking at the recent posts makes me anxious to get some Arkansas time in.

This image is of the Alaska Range which runs 600 miles through the middle of the state. The red is wild blueberry bushes which covered almost every field in this whole area. They were delicious and the grizzlies eat 5 or 6 gallons of them each day. That thought kept us on our toes.

A few more Alaska Images can be seen on my blog.

Thanks for looking.

I posted a larger version in ES&S here.

Incredible collection of work, Ed. This has to be one of the most scenic places on the planet - thanks for sharing!

Very nice Ed, what wonderful scenes and I'm sure very much enjoyed by all. Alaska is just one of those "must go to places." Wonderful work. Thanks for sharing!

Extra nice Ed. The Portage Lake photo almost looks like a different mountain is being reflected, pretty unique. Looks like you had a great trip.

Just brilliant, Ed!

I went to Alaska a few years back on one of those whirlwind cruises that stops at a half-dozen or so places then moves on just when you're ready to settle in for some serious shooting.

I was fortunate enough to go on one of those quick whale watching expeditions the ship offers and we caught several pods of humpback whales bubble feeding. GREAT experience!!

It's a place I've vowed to go back to and spend some serious time. Until then, I'll just content myself with your wonderful gallery.

Well done in all respects!!

Wow! Fantastic shot Ed. Are you going to display this in your gallery?

It truly is an incredible location. Hard to call it location, more like it's own country, we drove 4500 miles in 2-1/2 weeks.

Dave, I know what you mean about settling in and shooting. This was primarily a get acquainted trip and each location we visited was tough to leave. I could have spent the whole time in the area where this image was taken.

Tom: Of course we are going to display this in the gallery. The interior walls got framed this week. It looks huge right now but when you think of panos at 5-8 feet wide the space gets eaten up quickly.

Thanks for all the great comments.

It's hard for me to imagine that such a place exists in reality. Even with photographic proof its beauty defies belief. Great work Ed, all of it. :toast:

If this was more of a scouting trip I'd love to see what you could do with an extended photography expedition. In fact I'd like to see that in person .... hint, hint.

Well Ed, I must say, I'm slightly jealous as this is one of those lifetime trips I would love to go on...But, all that aside...Beautiful images you have captured! The Blueberry Hills pano is to die for. I would love to see it big someday! Next time you go on one of those scouting expeditions take us with you!

Ed great stuff. I have been following the blog and you really got a lot of wonderful shots out there. 4500 miles in two and a half weeks sounds like a lot of driving. I bet it was nice to be home.

I bet this was taken near the Mclaren River ???

Can't go wrong in AK with photography.

The deep colors and their contrasts makes the white mountains really stand out.

Good job!!!

This is beautiful... It reminds me of my "driving" trip from Anchorage to Fayetteville Arkansas. Had to bring home my Alaskan girl.
