Is it possible to adapt a canon lens to use it on a Sony camera? What about Nikon lens to Sony?

The film plane to lens mount distance and difference in the mount diameter will prevent this combination (EOS-Minolta) from working. Nikon to Sony might work if an adapter can be found. Canon usually is the best mount for other brand lenses because it has one of the shortest film plane to mount distances and the widest mount diameter and it meters pretty well without connectivity to the lens.

You can't adapt any lens to another camera and maintain auto focus so it will be manual focus only. As far as I know M42 mount (old pentax mount) is the only one you can get adapters to fit on a sony which don't have an optical element in them (optical elements in adapters which do have them are usually cheap and degrade image quality). If you don't mind manual focusing there are some great very high quality M42 lenses out there for cheap. I have a 55mm f1.8 Mamiya M42 mount which I use on my Canon sometimes via an adapter and the image quality is superb.
