The rains just keep coming and we are blessed with waterfalls in September. The hurricane brought us rain last year but not as much as we got the past few days. Natural Dam was running pretty well yesterday. If only we could get this rain a month from now!

I had hoped to catch the special light but I left Natural Dam too early, this is the scene that unfolded as I drove home on highway 59.
looks good Tom. This amount of water would be very nice a month from now.

I've shot many images there at that water level and higher, but mine were always muddy. It looks so good with water all the way across. Good stuff!

I love your vantage point here. The water is really running! Maybe we will be blessed enough to have this and fall foilage at the same time!

Great job Tom. The color is perfect with very pleasant light. Sorry you missed the sunset color.
I was shooting at Falling Water creek this afternoon and the water flow was great. Waiting until sunset but no color or glow where I was.
Isn't it amazing the amount of water for late September?

Nice work, Tom. The gravel bar in the foreground gives this image a lot of depth, and the water looks perfect. Beautiful sunset too - looks a lot like the one here last night.

Wow. Nice shot Tom. This is a bit of a different perspective than most people shoot of Natural Dam, and it looks great. I was up there the evening before, and the water was only going over in five or six separate locations. It's amazing how much different it looks in your shot.
I got to see that incredible sunset (but I was in town instead of somewhere with camera in hand), it was one of those fantastic ones that only happen a few times a year.

Tom a lovely image of natural damn. I like the pebbles in the foreground and you caught it at a really beautiful level. I cleared a big log out just above where you were standing this spring. Wow some great color in that sunset also.

Tom,
This is a great composition. The foreground pointing back into the shot just naturally draws you along the waterfall.
The wet glistening of the foreground rocks is just icing on the cake.
Good job!

Thanks for all the comments, Natural Dam is a neat area not too far from Fort Smith. Here is one more perspective that I have never seen. It is taken from a bluff just downstream that is easily reached by the road. Just continue across the bridge and up the hill, you will see it on the left. The dead tree is a distraction and I think it wall fall soon. I wonder what the Forest Service policy is about removing dead trees? Anyone know?

Real nice shot Tom. Looks like the AR crew is in for a great start to the fall season.

I'm sure they have a don't ask, don't tell policy when you are the only one there.
I saw a few trees on Falling Water Cr I would have liked to assist.
Is that a walking bridge or for vehicles?

Really nice shot...as already mentioned I really like the gravel bar included in the foreground.

Ed, the bridge is the county road and it is the one you take to get to the overlook.

That is a nice flow. Really like that first one too.
