I put captive/controlled in the title as it has been setting up residence in my shed. The shed has a hole in the back and it dragged in some leaves and has built a substantial nest. However it still comes in to the garden at night for food and is still intent on fattening up for winter. It is free to come and go as it pleases so really it is wild.. Anyhow, I thought it would offer the chance to get a few shots in part return for food and lodgings

You have a hole in the back, in which a hedgehog is nesting? That sounds serious, does the shed have one as well? LOL
A lovely picture, Brett, but personally I do not think it needs to be marked as captive. The hedgehog is free to come and go, if providing food makes it a captive animal, then any bird shot near a feeder needs to be marked the same way. It is still a wild animal by my reckoning.

What a heart-warming image. I like the leafy background a real nice autumn feel. I would be tempted to arrange some leaves or tempt the hedgehog to an area where the whole background is leaves.
Good to know you're providing a nice home for it.

Lovely shot Brett. Nice to see one without the very large tics they seem to carry around.
I would also regard this as wild.

Such a sweet image Brett that I too would class as wild. All wild creatures have to find a place to nest, and you were lucky enough to find this little one had chosen your shed. A lovely little discovery well taken.
Hope all is well with you, and I hope to meet up again soon.

Hi Brett
Good to see you the other night.
If you can get this close, how about showing your house or the shed - or both? Tell more of a story perhaps?

An excellent shot. No nits. I'd class it as wild rather than captive since it can come and go when it wants to.
