Sawtooths
Just a few pics of the Sawtooths last weekend. Any favorites? C&C welcome. Thanks.

Another.

The Sawtooths are on my life list of mountain ranges to backpack and photograph. Your photos add a little fuel to the fire, Kathryn.

The 2nd and 3rd photo are excellent. I love the light & reflection of the 2nd, and the tapestry of soft colors in the 3rd. Really nice work. Thanks for sharing!

Yet another.

Nice, Kathryn! It's good to see some Idaho in the forum. The perfect symmetry of the second pic is very appealing, though I notice that the reflection is lighter than the sky, which always looks a tad odd. I also like the detail in the submerged stones in #4. #1 is neat, but seems to have a distinct tilt. And all could be sharper for web presentation.

Again, nice series. I always just drive on by the Sawtooths on my way to the Middle Fork launch. Someday they'll entice me in.

Favorite? Tough call.
Probably #2. Jackson's advice re: darkening the reflection a tad is sound.
#1 is a close contender, but the light is a bit harsh and contrasty. Perhaps some extra 'darkroom' work can help?
#4 is also a close contender, though I think there's just a bit too much foreground.
Perhaps a crop from the bottom up to the bottom of the stick?

Regardless, a real nice series from an area I rarely see here.

I like 3 & 4, Kathryn. They need a little work but the comps are rock solid; id clean up the dust specks, and as mentioned try to get a bit sharper for web. In #3, try pulling down the highlites a bit on the right side, and boost the contrast just a bit. Nice stuff!

This is certainly a place to return to.
2 and 3 are my favorites. I'd love to see a little more on top with 3 though. The other folks have already pointed out the issues.

That second one is very nice work indeed.

Thanks for the great suggestions! I am going to go work on them in photoshop and perhaps put one of them in the galleries section once I am finished. I hope you all get a chance in the future to check out the Sawtooths. It is a wonderful place to backpack or just go to view and get some good shots. I'm more than happy to provide any information on the area.

With a little more contrast I think #3 will really pop.
