Howdy folks. There is an injured Egyptian Goose resting near a pond near the intersection of Jog Road and Linton Blvd in Delray Beach. This is very, very close to Wakodahatchee Wetlands.

It's got a broken leg, can't fly and is actively bleeding from its wound.

It's mate is staying right next to it. I doubt either bird has eaten today. We found it early this morning and its losing strength, rapidly.

I've gone back numerous times today to try and help but have been unable to rescue. The bird is across a span of water and I cannot get close to it. We need someone with water rescue experience and tools.

If you live in the vicinity and can help, please phone me at 561-496-4270. I will go again several times this evening.

Many thanks,
Gloria 3:30pm EST

Gloria - Here in SC we have several waterfowl rescue groups. Have you tried to call the local Fish and Wildlife Department? There may be a similar group there also. Good Luck. SandyLee

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get there for a few days, Gloria.

Please post the resolution.

Thanks so much...Lance.
