The last few nights it seems the sky has really lit up 15 minutes after sunset. I decided to head to the coast yesterday at the last minute when the conditions were lining up for another one of these sunsets. The sun vanished with little color on the horizon but within a few minutes dusk light was creating a very strong gradient. It lasted for nearly a half hour. Here is a shot from a distant spot at Ecola. Circular polarizer and 3-stop GND used to draw lots of color out. I am curious whether the intentional underexposure works here, and also if the composition is balanced enough. Any thoughts are welcomed good or bad!

Very nice Bryan! There is a harmony of tonalities here that I really like...with a subtle rather than overpowering presentation. I like how things move from dark in the llc to bright on the lrc and then the cool layered wave action above. It's like an implied S-curve, if that makes any sense.

I like the muted colors, my eyes seem to stay left at and through the trees. Alot of people will take off just at or during sunset. It seems the photograhpers are just about the only ones who stay late, long after the sunsets knowing what may happen.

I like this one a lot Bryan, really nice! The overall softness of the ocean and pastel color are very attractive. Sometimes an empty corner looks out of place, but the framing in the rest of the photo seems to make it fit here.
