And is it morning or evening shot? Thanks

From Highway-82, turn off at Snowmass (NOT Snowmass Village, which is closer to Aspen) onto Snowmass Creek Rd., drive to a T intersection and turn right on Capitol Creek Rd. Drive til you see it. The first decent overlook is easy high-clearance that might be done w/2WD, but getting to the upper one requires 4WD. Capitol is south of you from this vantage, so the light strikes it from a sharp angle at both sunrise and sunset. Both times work equally as well.

BTW, it's about 10 miles to the first overlook at the Capitol Creek TH, less than a mile more to the end of the road at the wilderness boundary/2nd overlook.

Todd, you shoulda included your pic of that overturned Honda off the road near the overlook with your directions. Wonder if its still there??

I forgot all about that, Doug! It was a Honda CR-V, so I guess if it can make it that far, just about anything short of a low-rider Chevy can.

I remember seeing the Honda that Todd photographed a couple of years ago, , but it wasn't there last fall. It would not have been fun to have to tow that thing out of there!
