Color looks good! Thanks for the report. I wonder how the trees are doing up at june lake and further north - any updates?

Floris I posted a color report on Cory's thread, but I'll answer your inquiry here. June Lake the color around the lakes is spotty and not yet at peak, maybe 30%. Lundy Lake Canyon the 3rd picture is just North of Mono Lake and the fourth Green Creek Rd is Just North of the Bodie cutoff. Best color is 7,000 feet and above. All the way north of Bishop it seems as if altiude and exposure realy make the difference.
Paul, thanks for all the current information here. Looks like things are progressing a bit slowly as it did last year too. I think this new weather front coming will make things snap.
I am soooo Ready! I hope to see many of you on the 4th at Sliver Lake!
As Paul said, perhaps this incoming cold front will accelerate the change. I recall that in 2007 that the trees in Lee Vining Canyon changed literally overnight when a cold snap hit. The temp dropped to 17 degrees F and we had a nice snowfall. The snow is not likely this year, but it will be cold at night this first week of October.
Let's hope for the best! By any measure, time in the mountains is better than any time in the city; fall color or no!
