Captured as the fog had barely started raising in Boxley valley.

Wow I would love to see something like this in person.

Great action shot Larry. I really like the feel with the fog in the background.

Thanks Zack. It seems the bulls get back in the woods when the sun is out. The shot above was taken just a big before sunrise.

Scott, it is especially nice when they are close enough one can hear their horns clicking when they are fighting.

Thanks Gale. It was fun to witness their fighting.

Thanks Karla. Yes, I may have to make another trip down there. It would be nice to catch a couple of the older and stouter bulls going at it.

I just saw a few dozen of these in the dark at Custer State Park in South Dakota Sunday morning. Sure wish I could have seen one in the light :).

It was not exactly light when I took this photo. 6:56 AM, f 5.6 at 1/125th, ISO 1EV over 3200 (6400). Took a bit of work with NX2. They had started fighting even earlier and much closer to me but it was so dark all I got was shadows.

Bill, I have a larger bull photo I just finished processing, will post him shortly.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Nice work, Larry. Good luck getting some larger bulls if you decide to go back! Here's a couple of big guys I stumbled onto a couple of years ago...they drew quite a crowd of onlookers. I believe the one on the right won.
