I'd like to know the difference between Nikon's RGB and the standard:
I.e., between NKsRGB.icm and sRGB.icm?
If I use Nikon software for raw conversion, my Paint Shop Pro tells me that there's a color-space mismatch and that it has converted "Nikon sRGB 4.0.0.3001 to sRGB Color Space Profile.icm"; I can't see the difference, myself, but I don't want to be changing something without knowing what I'm doing. (I mistrust PSP's color management, and I'm almost afraid to give PSP a color space profile other than sRGB lest it mess things up--my anti-Corel bias showing again.)
I'll greatly appreciate your help.

I had these choices when I used a Nikon film scanner, and found that 'Nikon sRGB' and 'Nikon AdobeRGB' were pretty much exactly the same as their non-Nikon counterparts. That's why you don't see any difference.
Still a good idea to convert away from Nikon tagged images just so others won't get a 'profile warning' when opening the image in PS, etc.
Thanks, John. I'll just let Paint Shop Pro automatically convert to sRGB and click the "don't ask again" button.
Thanks also for your various positive comments on Feisol tripods over the past year. I just got one, and it's amazingly light and really stable, too.

You're welcome, Rosemarie.
My Feisol tripod is still going strong with nary a complaint.
This photography stuff is expensive enough as is. It's awfully nice to find a great bargain these days.

Rosemarie,
If you want, you can email me with your NKsRGB profile and I'll compare it to sRGB in our software here and report back some actual numbers.

I´m curious to know about some results, I also work with Nikon color spaces vs. standard sRGB or aRGB. When Converting between sRGB or Nikon sRGB (4.0.0.3001 as mentioned) profiles I don´t notice any difference. But in some particular images, the conversion from AdobeRGB (preparing to web posting) to sRGB may cause significant color change. I experienced that in this image I submitted for critique, for example:
I explain it in the post, but I would like to learn more about this, and how to preserve the "look" of the original file, is it possible, when switching the color space and when such differences happen?
