This is a few from this weekend of not perfect conditions and making the best of it. And since it was about having fun and not photography then I don't care about what you think of it. Well, I do... but you know what I mean

Aleks, some really great shots here. #1 is great.. colors in #4 are also great. #3 seems a bit tilted to me, but maybe I am just tired. The last one is just a great shot of Maroon Bells. I am jealous as I have not gotten the opportunity to go yet.

Damn! I hope I have as unphotographic week as your weekend was. These are all gorgeous!

I really like #2, way to go

Ditto, Aleks! Plus 1 on #2. Nice stuff here.

If this is your idea of a "bad" few days shooting, I'd love to see what a "good" few days look like!

The last one of the Bells is my favorite, even though you didn't have any clouds.

#2 all the way! I do like your Bells shot though.

I really like #2 also, nice clean Aspen trunks and nicely lit. Looks like you did have alot of fun taking these images, and I totally agree with your philosophy!.

These are all good, but #2 is quite special!

A wonderful collection. Now if there were only some clouds in those last three...

Wow, #2 is bitchin. I also really like the last one, of the bells. I like that more than the standard reflection shot.

I have to agree with Todd, I wish I was complaining about these. Nice work.

Nice Aleks!

#4 gets my vote. I don't mind at all that there's no clouds. The rainbow of colors from the sky blues, to the red glow on the mountain and finally in the green and gold trees below is a fantastic combination.

These are very nice! I like 1 and 2 and and 3 is pretty interesting too.
As to your rant, I think my most productive fall trip was when I arrived at the San Juans about a week past peak. About every photographer I met was complaining that they got there too late. But I loved all the leaves on the ground and the contrast of barren trees to trees that still had leaves. So, to me, it was perfect conditions. You photograph what is there not what you want to be there.
I agree with your rant. These are all extremely nice images. If your in Colorado, all you have to do is look around a bit. It may not be the landscape image you were searching for but there is always something to shoot. I took a class in "Intimate Landscapes" and now I have to remember to look for the big picture and not just the macro shot.
Beautiful work.

These are all great, Aleks. Really fine work, with #2 my favorite.
Great series Aleks! I love #1 and the Bells shot especially. May be this monitor, since no one else mentioned it, but it looks like a lot of blue in these shots, the aspen trunks for example, and in the chair mtn shot too. A little blue might be a nice color contrast, but it looks excessive to my eye. Id try neutralizing it and make a comparison, maybe mid way between totally neutral and this might be best.
