Zack's Kings River image inspired me to post this beaver lake image captured in the middle of the day.
I took it at 3pm and was hoping for a later shot but by 5pm the clouds were totally gone.

Beautiful scene, Ed. The sky and clouds are great, and the trees and lake are pretty too. It seems to me that a lot of that stuff about bright midday sun causing too much contrast doesn't apply in landscapes where the shadows are so small in the overall picture.

Ed beautiful clouds and sky that make this image. Your right it happens to me alot also. I'm hoping for the clouds to hang around for sunset and by then there's none in the sky.

Very nice shot! Glad to hear that I'm not the only that the clouds disappear on. All day long in the office seeing those beautiful clouds, 5:00 pm rolls around, head out the door to grab your gear and there isn't a cloud in the sky....hate that!

The clouds have been pheonomenal this past week. This is a great display of what we have enjoyed in Arkansas this week. Beautiful!

Excellent Ed! While sunrise and sunset photos may be more dramatic I don't see anything wrong with a well executed daylight photo. Like this one. Reminds me of the old time picture postcards one bought back in the 70's in the tourist shops.

Ed, the clouds make the shot!

Larry I'm not sure saying the image is a postcard shot is really a compliment these days! Just kidding, I know what you mean, other than the format it could be a glossy postcard in all the local EZ marts.
The really nice thing about the clouds the past week is that with all the rain this month the sky was crystal clear except for the clouds. Most of the time it is too hazy to pickup detail in a shot this deep.

Great clouds! OH my... What would this shot look like when the fall colors start? Please go back and shoot it then too!

Ditto on what Aaron said. Very impressive! I'd love to see you get this in the fall, heck I hope it's me that shoots this very scene with the fall colors. It's a keeper!

Aaron, This spot is only about 2 miles from my home so I check it anytime the conditions look good.
Would be great to have these clouds with some fall color.

Can't add much. Beautiful scene, with great detail.

Love the sky and those clouds, Ed. This location has about the best view of the lake to the east, except for a place or two on the lower end of the lake - but sure is a lot closer...only about 4 miles from my place.

A mid day beauty Ed. I have one not unlike this that was shot from the second story deck of a condo my wife and I rented on Beaver Lake a few years back. Sweet.
