Fantastic image Gale. Love the reflections, and the repeating pattern of trunks from left to right gives this a lot of depth.

Nice swamp! See any Ivory Bill's while there?

Really a beautiful scene, Gale. I think I'm going to have to wait for the snakes to take cover for the winter before I head down there...

Very nice Gale, did you shoot this from your boat? Another classic Gale Rainwater pano stitch!

Beautiful Gale, it's great to see some of your beautiful panos gracing these pages. Don't let this be a tease, show us more!

WOW! I love the swamps! How soon can we expect the red color hitting the swamps??? I'll be heading that way when they're red, or maybe before. :) Very nice shot!

Awesome, this is my kind of image Gale. The depth and clarity is incredible.
I am hoping to get down to the White River Refuge when the cypress turn.

I'm with Bill on the snakes! Great shot Gail. I love the depth perception of the trees on the left. It has very strong lines...and the lone trees to the right really anchor the shot well

Thank you everyone.
Tom no this was taken from in the water.
I only saw one snake. I was headed toward a picnic table when I saw this water mocasin. He saw me as well and start moving away. I stood still and watch as he headed toward a lone oak tree just a few feet away. I was hoping he would head around it but to my suprise I watched him slighter straight up the bark of this tree. It was very creepy when all 4 feet of this snake slithered straight into a small knot hole right at eye level. It then really came to my forethought that man I not only have to worry about stepping on a snake. These guys are living and feeding in these limbs overhead, I keep working through. I was a little more jumpy after seeing and experiencing this snake up close.
What is really irritating to me is the mosquitoes. Even this time of year I got eaten up by them again. There is something about a pale skinned white boy out in the water. They just swarm me.

Very nice, as always, Gale! Looks almost 3-D on my monitor.
Great technique in your shots.

Wow that is incredible!! I'm blown away by the detail and sharpness, it is breathtaking.
Snakes freak me out, I had the urge to check around my desk for snakes after reading your account of watching one climb out of the water onto the tree.
