Calling a sunset, Weather and sky observation.

Just wanted to send a out a possible good sunset alert it was looking really good about an hour ago, now a little less so. High clouds to catch the colors broken clouds on the horizon, milky high sky from which the haziness disappears as the sun sets. Conditions are rarely perfect for that killer sunset, but today's sky is one that through my experience shows all of the signs. Like the afternoon before the posted Sunset.

First Post was taken 12_14_08, I have a shot from the same park from tonight. Not epic but worth the trip from North Long Beach to catch it. Notice the difference of where the sun set. I made the call so I had to make the shot.

That first post reminds me of the sunset a few weeks back. It was epic. Unfortunately, I was nowhere to take advantage of it. I like the way you gave the sky the main stage and just a sliver of the land for sense of scale and location. Very nice!

This subject reminded me of the last time I was at Bowling Ball Beach for sunset, looking forward to a really good one with perfect clouds, only to watch in horror as most of them evaporated into blah by the time the sun went down. Oh well, Bay Area traffic has made me more of a sunrise man anyway.

You succeeded in getting me out the house but just missed the good light Paul.

Sorry you missed the light, if you had caught it I really would have liked to have seen it, I admire your work and would have loved to have seen your take, and one of your fav sunset spots close by.
