Just back after another week away and am just starting to process the balance of my RAW files from Svalbard.
Shooting at this time of year was a trade off between good light in June with little pack ice, to good pack ice and variable light. However, with just over 40 encounters later, here is one of them. He was quite happy waiting by a seal blow hole, occasionally letting everyone know who was boss!

I really like this, Stephen. Even if the light isn't as good as it was in June, it was obviously good enough - I like the back lit effect. It would have been nice to have the bear looking a little more towards you, but otherwise superb.

David has already stated my thoughts a superb photo albeit not exactly what you wanted but isn't that the very epicentre of photography we go back to capture the one that eluded us previously.
