Eric Weight's post of a Mara Cheetah and the reference to Toto (the band) bought a lot of memories back from my time there in 2005. I don't usually dig into my back catalogue but thought I'd drag this one out. It was our first siting of little Toto the tiny Cheetah cub, who some of you may remember from the Big Cat Diary show. Our guide may have been the first to spot him as the BBC were elsewhere on the plains at the time. However, word soon got around and this little character created a lot of excitement back at the camp.
We didn't realise until watching the show later in the year that little Toto disappeared after a fierce storm. We'd left the camp by then so assumed he was still well. That's life I guess, but I'm glad we still have these images to remember him by.

A wonderful picture
With several trips to Kenya now, I've still to see a cheetah cub.
I wonder if this was the only cub or were there others?

Now you've gone and done it. Beans on toast now until we've saved enough to go when the cubs are about. That's a lovely shot Simon. I love the way the little guy is looking at you, but mum isn't interested. Eric
