The cyprus are beginning to turn on Lake Conway. As always, one of my favorite places to shoot.

Looks like it's gonna' be a great fall!

Pretty image, Dave. That's sharp for such a long focal length and slow exposure.

You found a good one! I didn't see that tree. Another week or so the cypress will be looking real good! You found the early bird! Maybe I need to be out there in the daylight more often to see what I'm missing!

The beautiful color and light really pops and makes this one David. I just wish this tree was straighter.

Pretty reflection and great color...Looking good. I guess I need to get out there if I could only find the time!

Thanks to all. These are some of my favorite trees on the lake. I keep coming back to this spot each year and am amazed at the vibrant colors I see here. Because of the particular location these trees catch the light just right both morning and evening. I can't tell you how many pictures I've taken of the trees in this area but they would certainly fill a book.
Gale, strangely enough, it's the angle of this tree that makes it one of my favorites. I'll post other pictures of trees that are straight at another time but I just always seem to be drawn to this highly skewed tree. (Wonder what that says about me? )
Karla, this is just about 20 minutes from your workplace so you could slip out there after work some afternooon and shoot away. If you hubby's not sleeping after being out in the wee hours he might even join you! This is from what I call the backside of Lake Conway from Camp Robinson so it's easy to get to.
Looking forward to seeing more from everyone as the colors proceed to heighten this fall.

Great color and lighting. The tilt of the tree is fine. If I could wish for one difference though, it would be for the vegetation in the foreground to be absent so the golden-orange reflection could have occupied the space instead.
Dave -
That isn't a picture of your "Favorite" cypress, is it?
Last years picture was of a nice erect tree.

This tree, I guess, would have to be classified as my second or third favorite on the lake. This shot is taken from the Dix Creek north access ramp and my favorite can be seen from the Dix Creek west access ramp. They are both from the same area but seen from opposite sides of the Dix Creek area of Lake Conway.
Beautiful work, Dave. It's certainly hard to beat the color of cypress trees in all their fall glory. I would have thought it a bit early for color this far along. Thanks for sharing!
