Artic Tern At Dawn
Photography of an Artic Tern getting ready to dive for food taken on the 'Sound of Mull' as a new dawn had broken.I placed my camera in portrait format hoping to catch one of these birds diving but the poor light, and me not being quick enough it did'nt happened, but I was very happy with this image.

I really like this one Craig, the composition works for me and the lighting and colours are spot on, but I can't decide whether or not the Tern needs a little lift, just to bring out a little more detail.

Looking at the light I think you've done well to have the tern lit as it is,would have worked as a silhouette but great as is,another great shot!!

I like this... a simple composition that works very well indeed..... They should have issued name badges at the BWPA, would have known who you were then.

Phil, Craig was the one looking like shingle.

I love the light on this. As a dawn shot I wouldn't expect the bird to be fully lit - this is just right. :toast:

Sorry it doesn’t quite work fro me. I have the impression that the point where it would be diving into isn’t in the frame. But I am sure that is just me.

Hello Craig.

Lovely shot for me the colour on the water is really nice and the Tern adds a bit of interest.

When I opened this I thought what a lovely shot it was, but the more I look at it, the more my eyes keep pulling down to the in-focus ripples at the bottom of the frame. I like the concept, but it seems to have two focal points at opposite ends of the image which is a bit hard on the eyes. Must be too much Voddy.
