Can anyone tell me the azimuth of the moonrise on Saturday 10/3 and Sunday 10/4? I know that there are a number of iphone apps that do this. I’m trying to set up a moonrise shot over the tufa at Mono Lake.

Thanks!

Zack

Zach,

Here's the output from the Photographer's Ephemeris that Floris just linked to. It's a very cool app - and it's free:

Sun/Moon for this weekend.

The application also uses Google Earth and so you can line up your location as well.

See you Sunday!

Hmmm... I tried this program on 2 different machines - one with Vista, one with XP. I installed AIR on both machines prior to installing the program. On both machines, I got the following error:

"The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author."

Any ideas???

Hi Zachary - could be an intermiitent problem with my hoster (although I was just able to download it ok from the site).

Try this link instead: http://stephentrainor.com/files/tpe/tpe_1_0_RC1u.air.

I had a couple of people report something similar a couple of months ago, but the file on the server was fine. Hope this helps - if not, let me know.

Rgds,

Stephen

Thank you, Stephen! The new program installed. I can't wait to play with it a little bit.

Thanks again for the very quick response!
