A beautiful shot of the bird, complete with shrimp. :toast:

I think I may prefer it in landscape. IMO the top and bottom don't contribute, but a little more room at least on the left would give the bird somewhere to go. Still a brilliant capture. :toast:

Agree with Mike re landscape but a beautiful image and lovely reflection. Superb detail too. :wavey: :toast:

I too agree with the above. The positioning of the birds legs gives it a purposeful sense of direction which just cries out for more space on the left. That said, I'd be delighted if it were mine!

Superb detail in both subject and reflection and have to agree with the orientation..

Nice shot, works well, personally I would re compose it so that the Greenshank is facing to the right, but that is just me.

Looking at it, I think you were slightly over gunned, as you do need more space on the left, for it to walk into, but that is easily fixed.

Personally I think the shot here, is a 400/600 as a horizontal, facing towards the right and possibly including the ripples. In situations like this, a 200-400 plus a 1.7x, is hard to beat.

Still a nice shot, which many would be pleased to have taken, I know I would have been.

Hello Phillip.

Lovely shot and I like the POV as it lets us see the underside of the bird in the reflection.

I would be very happy with this and the only comment would have been for a little more room on the left.

lovely reflection image but for me landscape orientation is needed. I would be tempted to clone out the white dot by its head and also the black dot by the reflection.

quite like this, the reflection is brilliant and the fish is a great addition, does need a little more room though i think

That is a super capture Phil, but it is crying out for a landscape format. It's always the same, usually for me as soon as I turn the camera up this way, they stretch their wings out wide. Sod's law.
Looks like a grubby sensor prob in front of its head and the little white spot has to go. No getting away from it though it is a beautiful shot.

Lovely shot Phil but its landscape for me :toast:

Plus there are a few flies and whites spots that could do with cloning
