Kestrel
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/100s, f8, iso 400.

This young kestrel found a superb spot from which to stalk his prey. I didn't see him at all, but asked someone with binoculars what he was seeing. The original house is approximately 900 yr old, and the stonework is covered in lichen and mould. This provides excellent camouflage. I initially thought the image had a yellow cast, so I have already desaturated the yellows.

Thats a beauty Ian. The surroundings and background colours perfectly complement the bird.

Hello Ian.

Very nice and really like the setting can just see this being an old farm building and the Kestral looking down into the yard for the mice. Good call on reducing the yellows in the background as if they where any stronger thay may have over powered the bird. But I think you have got this just about right.
