Is there enough difference to justify buying version 2 ? What are the differences ?

A photographer named Cal Vornberger has presented a few quick thoughts on this at http://www.calvorn.com/joomla15/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=1&flypage=flypage-ask.tpl&product_id=17&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=11&vmcchk=1&Itemid=11

Hi Gene
Thanx for that.
I'm not sure what's being said here; "The head’s redesigned panning base has zero play ?"

Having used both heads I would say the MKII version is much better. The differences between the two are small yet in the field you can really tell. First off the MKII is lighter and more compact. It is easier to control and adjust while your eye is looking through the viewfinder, due to the knob placements. Also I think the overall quality of the MKII supersedes the older version.
