Klaus---great light, great sky---congratulations! I love the way the soft light is shaping the rocks. I've been there several times and didn't see anything close to this.

I agree with Todd - that first one is one of the nicer shots I've seen.

Nice images. I like the clouds and comp in the first image.

Great work, Klaus. I really like them both.

Phenomenal dimensionality in the first shot. I wish the left hand foreground didn't obscure the Horseshoe-minor nit. From the Horseshoe images I've seen this is the most orginal-definitely the most punch!

Beautiful shots, Klaus, great light in both! The reds/orange in #1 are slightly blown, but that's an easy fix--great stuff.

In first one the foreground and distance rocks are way over exposed too much for my tastes, it just doesn't look natural. Just my honest opinion.

A nice sunset to be sure, but obscuring the river with the rocks defeats the impact of what this area offers, which is the massive bend on the river.

Thanks Jody. That was the way it looked so even thought it may not look natural to you it is.

Thanks John. If I didn't include the fg rocks then it would look like the other million shots that have been done there. Change is good.

Greta shots Klaus....love the colors

Great light and sweet clouds. I think I'd expect the foreground to be a little darker too given the amount of color in the distant sky and the fact that it looks like the sun is below the horizon. Nice image regardless!

21 repliesNot detracting at all but is the second HDR (or a blend)?
The first shot is a 2 exposure blend and the second is a single exposure. No HDR.
