The Roar....
50D, 400/2.8 +1.4, Tripod + BWG-HD
ISO400, 1/125 @ f4.5, -1/3 EV
ACR5.3 + resize & sharpen CS4
Full Frame.

Hi,

One from this morning, met up with Julian and had a pleasant few hours photography followed up with coffee and a bacon roll, cheers Julian...

Admitting to a bit of a Danny moment here and shot virtually wide open... think I will be trying some more this way. I wanted a close up but it is always difficult getting the framing right...

Looking forward to next weekend.

Nice light, great action. I also find myself on f8 too often so it's always nice to see reminders that wide open shooting often makes sense.

very nice, great behaviour of course and really like the vegetation in the antlers, needs a small slice off the bottom for me to get rid of the sense of the beggining of the legs, if that makes sense?

Really nice shot Phil. Dark muted background really makes the image.

Make that three Mark - add Ian to your list

A really solid portrait, Phil - good selection from what I assume was a sequence.

Cheers,
Chris
