Any suggestions for a web design program not as advanced as Dreamweaver or Front Page, not as gallery oriented as Coppermine, that allows me to create web pages with text and images, uploadable to my own existing hosting service via FTP? I just want to create uniform pages with text and some images.

Jeff,
You might want to look at Kompser, a shareware application (http://kompozer.net/). I've found it pretty easy to use for exactly what you are describing. I use it as a front end to Lightroom generated galleries and use a freeware FTP client (Core FTP Light, www.coreftp.com
) to manage the files on the host computer, even though Komposer has FTP functionality built in.
I am pretty much a hunt and peck person, just learning how to do this stuff for the fun of doing it. I am sure there are better and more efficient ways to do this (my web page is not the quickest to load), but this program is definitely WYSIWYG, and is positioned so on the programs web page.
Anyway, if you are interested www.philspixels.com was put together with this program. (I am not a pro photographer, by the way. This site is mostly to share with friends & family..you can't forget Mom...)
