Hi all,

Just back from the annual trip to Kenya. Plenty of large mammals as you might expect but I also spent some time looking for the smaller birds.

This woodpecker must have spent about 20 minutes drilling into the side of a small tree. I had time to change lenses, take some images, then add a converter while it was digging into the tree.

It finally pulled this bug out.

C&C welcome.

Love the muted browns! Nice to see something different from Kenya!

Superb. Great warmth to the lighting and the detail and the interest are there too. I guess a little more room might be nice for my taste.

Excellent catch! I wonder if it could do with brightening just a little?

Don't see shots of these often, it makes a nice change from rollers and bee-eaters. The exposure looks dead right to me.

A pleasure to view this one. I like the lighting and detail, and the bug is the icing.
