Had a great day at Vinces place on Saturday. This field is just incredible and a great location to shoot Barn Owl and Buzzard.

I gave the Canon 7D a workout with birds in flight too and I'm really impressed with the AF so far.

This is a really nice shot. Great composition and lovely scene. However the whites of the owl seem to have lost detail and look a bit grey on my screen.

A nice pose from the Owl, but It looks oversharpened and "posterised" to me.
A tighter shot that does not show the post supporting the half a gate would have been better too, for me the gate standing on it's own without a fence/hedge/wall etc giving a reason for it being there just don't work!

Agree on Nigel and Sandra's comments. I do like all these flowers and certainly a reason to visit Vince his place this time of year!
Perhaps you could tell us what you did in post processing as i am sure the image has loads of impact when processed in the right manner.
