 Amanita muscaria
Whilst many of you were chasing various forms of animal life, I decided I would get down and dirty on the forest floor this weekend with the fungi that seems to be sprouting up everywhere since the little drop of rain on Saturday night.

Thanks for viewing.

Lovely shot, Fran. The low point of view is very nice.

Yes, the low POV and the good control of depth of field combine to make a great shot.

Wonderful autumn feel to this shot and the low POV works well here.
You might try to town down the yellow "spots" in the (leftside) BG and FG just a bit. to draw the eye more to the fungus.

Well done!

I think that if you take out the foreground slurry, and you will considerably increase the emphasis on the main subject.

Otherwise a very nice shot, well seen and executed.

Hi Fran , its a nice POV and well taken apart from the fussy BG .Mush in the FG is fine by me but perhaps some selective leaf placement or replacement would have been good in the BG .

And so it begins... Wondered who would be first to start the ball rolling with Fungi and you did it well Fran.. Nice fresh specimen. A little bit of 'gardening' and dusting would have polished off the picture but I still like it how it is since that's how you found it..

Thanks all, your comments are much appreciated.

I agree about the odd couple of yellow leaves being a bit of a distraction, but was happy with the rest of the b/g etc., as that was the way it was. I feel sure that the odd bit of dirt on the shroom may trouble some, but again, that's how it was....newly emerged dirt and all

Brett, it makes a change for me to be first

Best wishes to all,

Very nice Fran. Its extremely difficult to get a good back as well as a low POV with fungi. :wavey:

Hi Fran, Lovely shot with this low PoV. I allready spotted them overhere too. Hope I have some time soon to go down to the lowest level of photography :)

You've found a fine specimen of fungushood there Fran. One thing that alsways strikes me about these is how they leap out at you from the Autumnal forest floor. It might be interesting to try a shot with this much smaller in the frame to see if you can catch that effect in a different way. This is excellent as is though.
