The buck itself is great, but for me the overall impact of the image is spoilt by the amount of fore ground slurry, crop it out and you will considerably increase the emphasis on the main subject.
Very nice shot Jeroen the foreground mush and background mush focus attention on the subject

mushed up just right for me .Nice comp and lovethe BG colours.Down 0.2 and gamma to 0.9 adds a tadge more depth for me too. It maybe just my screen though.
Hi Jeroen, Great shot.
The only very little nit I have is the grasshalm on the right side of the picture. This one attracts my attention as first thing in the picture. I think because its green color (the surrounding grass is dry and yellow) and his height (jus a little longer as the surrounding).
A lovely image of the buck but I too would crop out some of the mush. Not all, but you could certainly take it out to just above your copyright and still have room for the 'virtual legs'.

Cropping out the foreground might attract more attention to the Roe Buck but it would then lose it's "virtual legs" wich would be another thing..

Am intrigued with Carl Marr's remarks. He seems to have a "Remark of the Day" and copy and paste it onto each image he comments on - interesting
Thanks for your comments so far!
To Maggie: Glad you have noticed it too...
