I don't know if anyone else has this issue, or if it's my computer, my dual screens or my software. It's happened to me each time I'm taking someone's advice from here and trying to edit my photos on CS4, I'll click on one of the tools, and move over to my photo and nothing. The mouse is a hand, not the tool that I selected, but when I click on the screen with the internet and this site up (my CS4 is opened up on the second screen on the right) and then move over to CS4, click twice on a tool and move my photo, it's working. Am I going crazy or has this happened to someone else before? It has only really happened 4 times now, maybe less. Any experiences or knowledge of what could be going on?

I had this problem happen to me a few times and it drove me crazy trying to figure out. It's not your dual screens, software or computer. I forget exactly what causes the problem, but I believe if you hit the space bar (which, when held down activates the hand) that it will solve the problem. I may be "misremembering" but I'm pretty sure that's how to solve the problem.

I've had a problem sometimes where I select the brush too (for painting a layer mask) and it doesn't show the brush size circle like it normally does it just shows a small crosshair looking thing. It still works when I click on the image but its nice to see the brush size when you are actually using the tool so you know how much coverage you will have. I usually re-launch photoshop and that fixes it, I wonder if there is a better way without having to quit and open it back up.

Try resetting your preferences.
As soon as you launch PS, press and hold the Alt, Ctrl and Shift keys.
A dialogue window will appear asking you to confirm that you want to delete the current settings. Click 'OK'. This often works to fix many issues within PS.

The one problem with this is that there are 10 or 11 settings under Edit->Preferences, so it's a good idea to make a note of any that you've changed from the default values before you do this.

Thanks, I will keep all this in mind.
