Coastal fall color
Hey all, as my post on ESS suggested, I spent some time at Pt Lobos near Monterrey this weekend. The poison oak is just about peaking with some really bright reds, and it's everywhere. If you want to shoot some red fall color... that's a good bet!

Wow Floris that's some intense red, if it wasn't just scattered in the image someone would comment it's over saturated, but the leaf litter and pine needles show it isn't, nice..

A bit underexposed by nice colors. The poison oak was already red near the entrance gates when I went there a month ago.

Thanks Richard... yep, here's a repost.

Wow, the color sure lasts on the poisen oak. I've seen it in July already pink. the burgandy is nice too.

I'm having a hard time appreciating the beauty of this wretched plant, but this does have a sense of beauty about it. The arrangement of poison oak leaves against that bed of needles and leaves is nice. In general I like the increase in brightness of the repost, but might prefer just a slight reduction in the saturation of the oak leaves. I think that would strike the right balance for me. Well seen!

Thanks Eric, yea the leaves ended up getting a bit too much saturation after the brightness/contrast boost. I mostly just posted this one to give an update on the poison oak, the one I prefer (though undoubtedly most will find rather chaotic!) is posted on the NAPD forum... though I don't think that one's getting too much action.

It was really amazing how much of it there was, and all red! Of course, not being allergic makes it easier to appreciate it, though I don't go overexposing myself to the nasty oils just in case...
