Seal and pup
This grey seal seemed to be encouraging it's pup to try the water for what appeared to be the first time. The pup didn't seemed too keen at first but did eventually brave the sea.

Hi Robert,

a very pleasant and pleasing shot showing the bond between mother and pup :toast:

It might stand a little bit more sharpening

I see you are still renting helicopter flights Robert!
A different and welcome perspective with well captured behaviour too.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the comments.
Andy, I'm shooting from a cliff top above one of the pupping beaches down here in Pembrokeshire. There is no access directly to the beach so all my shots are from this sort of vantage point and mostly with a 500mm lens. It means a lot of my seal images have a bit of a 'samey' perspective and it can make shooting something different a bit of a struggle so I now just sit and wait to see if any behavioural images come to light.
Chris, it's not far off a chopper job and it can sometimes be a bit hairy when the lens is pointing at a pretty extreme angle and the tripod leg moves a bit !!
Cheers,
Rob

Needs to be a little sharper. and I would have like to see the whole of the female to be in the frame. Great interaction, well seen and taken.
