Skomer Puffin Portrait
This image was taken in early June on my first visit to Skomer. The sunlight was very bright but shooting throughout the day was great way to learn how to control difficult exposures. I think I just managed it here.

I looked to do something about the vegetation in the bottom left and right corner but I feel it really ruins the composition even though it's only a minor cropping job.

I really enjoy this image and I hope you do too.

Very nice shot taken uder what looks to be difficult lighting conditions :toast:

I would remove the wingtip ? in the middle of the birds body as it draws my eye

Love the look caught cris and the colours/BG are very nice, harsh light but you have done well there   :wavey: :wavey:

Looks good to me Chris, the two tone BG on the diagonal works well.

An in between shot for me, neither a close up or a portrait, and I tend to think that it might have worked better as a vertical, have you looked at a square crop as I do not think you will loose anything by cropping off some of the left . Technically spot on, a subject few ever get tired of photographing. Well seen and taken.

Good stuff Chris, just wonder whether you could lose the bottom of the image so the wing tip and grren on bottom left are lost.

I think I'm in the minority in liking square compositions in the right circumstances - I think this is one of them. I agree about the wing. Lovely portrait.
