A small fall
I was unable to make the trip I had planned to the San Juans for the grand landscapes they offer because of work. So, I took my wife and drove up out of Sedalia to Rampart Range road on Saturday in the late afternoon. There was a storm moving in, so I had filtered light to dark cloudy light to work with. The bushes and ground covers were fairly glowing in those conditions, so I tried to concentrate on making something out of them. It was actually quite refreshing to focus on something different for a change.
Here's #1.

Agree, #2 is pretty cool.

Yep, I like #2. It's kind of resembles a Shinzo Maeda photo.

Another vote for #2, I really like how it stands out against the darker forest!.

This is how I spent a majority of my fall trip too ... pretty rewarding, huh? I like every single one of these Morris. Great eye!

Nice selection Morris. I like #2 as well, but I think the color on the primary subject might pop a little more if it was a little darker. I like #1, but the vignetting is a little heavy. #5 is a winner "as is."

Thanks for the comments, guys. Grant, I take that as a great compliment. I love that guy's work. And Jesse, it was very rewarding spending some very quiet time in these woods with what gifts it was giving me. Joshua, I will try that in a print, thanks.

The maple in #2 is really a standout and #5 has potential

The last two years I've spent most of my fall shooting very close to home and found it extremely rewarding. In fact, this year I spent a little time on aspens, but not much. Its really opened my eyes to all the other fall colors in Colorado.

#2 is unique and quite beautiful. Almost oriental in feel.
Glad you weren't able to come down this way...you saved lots of $$$ and time that was obviously better spent around the Rampart Range..

#2 for me, Morris. Nice the way you isolated that tree from its background.
