The theme for October 2009 is about color relations - "Complimentary and Contrasting Colors"

Since I didn't know off-hand what all the complimentary colors are, I looked up a color wheel showing complimentary colors. Complimentary colors are on opposite sides of the wheel from each other.

I thought this had some nice contrasting colors, one of my favorite images from Death Valley. This was just daylight white balance with the salt flats in the shade being lit by the bright blue sky overhead and mountains reflecting in water that were getting first light at sunrise.

Ribbon Falls, Bright Angel Canyon, North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Created while I was Artist-in-Residence on the South Rim. I had this place to myself for a couple of hours. :biggrin:

Great stuff by everyone. A late entry from me as I've had precious little time with the recent birth of my daughter. I finally had a minute to search through the archives with this theme in mind and came across this one. Some orange and blue from a little known spot in Montana :wink:
