I just returned from a short trip to Jackson. Very little fall color remained, and the snow started the Teton pronghorn herd on their annual migration to the Upper Green River Basin. Mule deer and elk have also started migrating from the park - all signs that winter is near. I hiked to the top of a hill before dawn to make this image of The Teton Range over the Red Hills and rolling sagebrush in the Gros Ventre Basin.

The Tetons look very dramatic Dave, I remember flying over them once and they looked amazing on a sunny day from the air.
That's one heck of a shot!I love the way the foreground textures make up for a cloudless sky; the way the softer Red Hills contrast with the more-rigid Tetons; and, of course, the unique point of view.

Just an absolute stunner! Those clouds hugging the Teton Range add a nice punch to an already pretty stellar image.

Definitely a different shot of the Tetons. I like it. That last storm sure left the range with a nice winter coat!

11 repliesSuperb shot of a gorgeous area. The Tetons seem a little overexposed to me, but maybe it's just my monitor.
