Redo as per noted in your suggestions.
This image appears a bit lighter on my Eizo monitor.
This was shot at the same time as the morning fog image that I posted several weeks ago and was my only decent elk shot of the morning.
Thanks for your comments.

Well, I certainly like the redo!
It appears that the background was lightened at the same time?

That's fantastic, David! I think if you can get rid of a little of the graininess in the bg, this will be superb.

Nice shot. I like the lower angle. Looks like you had better luck then I did on Friday!

While I think the redo is the better of the two, lightening up the shot revealed some problematic noise in the shadow areas on the elk's face. A little noise reduction filter work in PS or another program could clear that up. I also think some selective sharpening on the eye would improve the image.
Re-post for color and noise.
Started over from scratch. I can't sharpen eye much more. This was cropped to a 4x6 size. I should have added my 1.7 multiplier to my 200-400 lens to enlarge the original.
This will have to do for this year.

Holy cow, or should I say Holy bull, is that rework an excellent shot. Really nice pp to bring the good stuff out.
