Hi,

After lots of frustration with my (useless attempts at) wildlife photography and a long break away from it, I am back to give it another try. I had a bit of luck getting a few (non-wildlife) images published this year, and decided to try my hand at shooting stock images which has really pushed my understanding of my camera and photography to the extent I'm now comfortable shooting in full manual mode.

So with renewed passion for photography and better understanding of what I am doing, I'm hoping to give wildlife photography another go.

So, to that end here is my first attempt...

I shot this swan soon after sunrise on the River Clyde.

1/400
f6.0
ISO200
@290mm

I've cropped quite heavily, as in the original the swan is a litle too small for my liking.

Any C&C appreciated!

Thanks,

Bryan.

Hi Bryan,

Nice shot, although I would like to see it larger to really appreciate it, maybe slim down the border a little and post it at 720 pixels on the longest side to receive more useful critique. looks like you had some great light!

Cheers,

Lewis.

Thanks for the reply Lewis!

Here is a link to the 720px version (I couldn't see how to add the image directly to the post) http://www.bryanmansell.co.uk/stuff/photoforum/swan720px_mansell2009.jpg

The light was superb that morning.

Thanks again,

Bryan.

Yes, an excellent image, even if a little on the small side.
