Red Deer Stag-Richmond
Am I the first to post?? After a superb day weather wise, and a good crowd of photographers at Richmond, I think I can safely say that a good day was had by all!

It was good to meet up with folk!

It seems the rut hasn't got fully underway yet, and a cold snap is perhaps needed. Even though the chaps were making a lot of noise, there wasn't a great deal of action, but never the less they were a pleasure to watch.

Thanks for the lift Phil, I hope I paid you back enough in bacon rolls and coffee

Hope everyone else had a great day at Bradgate.

Regards to all,

Fran :toast:

Yes...

I Like this Fran, A view I didn't get.... the felled tree and the slightly misty bg make this for me.

The light in the morning was great for these magnificent beasts as shown here....

Hey I only had one bacon roll, but as a coffee-holic greatly appreciated....

Lovely Fran. Really like the framing with the branch and fallen tree and the dappled sky just makes it. Wish the light had been as good at Bradgate. Had an enjoyable day though and met Danny Green and the infamous Mr Davies who does a stunning Stag "call" otherwise known as a burp  so the entertainment was worth the trip. Its nice to be able to put faces to names.

Hi Fran

Nice, I've got one just like that

Like the way the animal is framed and works well with the fallen tree,

Good to put a face to a name, good morning all around, shame rut was not really under way but better luck next time

cheers

Colin

Hi Fran,

Nice shot, although I'm not too keen on the framing personally. I would have liked a touch more room left and at the bottom as the legs appear a little cut off and I find the bulk of the dark branches at the top a little too much, but others love it so what the heck

Cheers,

Lewis.

Hi Fran , looks like you had a great time at Richmond . Nice image , I like the framing and the BG ,but the fallen log obscures just a tadge too much for me.

Nice image, Fran. I like the background and the framing but the fallen log is a bit too prominent for me.

Great log and the deer is not bad as well. :   Seriously though, a really nice, evocative shot. Well done indeed.
