New shot that you've never seen before
On the night that I took this shot I was speeding to get here by sunset after shooting the Sneffels Range, but did not make it quite in time. I'm glad because the after dusk glow worked out far better. Surprisingly there wasn't another sole here at the time.

Fantastic Bryan. Did you add a bit of vignetting? Looks good.

Brian,

Great capture...the different colors really make the image pop out. Where/how were you positioned for this shot? Again, nice job!

Familiar location, not so common light. I really like it. Well done.

Boy, you saw much better color in the foliage than I did from there last year! Beautiful shot. There's a few hot spots in the sky that keep grabbing my attention. The uneven sky brightness (probably due to polarization) detracts a bit as well. If you can deal with those, that'll make this even better than it already is.

Bryan, wonderful colors, great shot. Agree with Guy on the sky brightness.

Kane, yep slight vignetting on this one. Justin, I was half way along the guard rail to the right of the Dallas Divide parking lot. Thanks Josh. Guy now that you mention it, those are some points to work on. Thanks Bill.

To be honest I'm not ever excited to photograph this scene, maroon bells, and the mill, but I really had fun with this shot b/c of the clouds.

Superb shot Bryan! One of the most colorful autumn images I've ever seen, and with great lighting to boot. I bet you could sell a LOT of these. :toast:

Wow really great colors.

Looks like you had everything working for you Bryan. Great Shot!!

Beautiful image! Love the clouds and the color.

Wow!  Bryan, you have a winner here. Gorgeous fall colors (the scrub is out of this world) and the clouds are perfect. This may be a common shot, but this is far from a common result. You just need to fix the halo around the mountains and even out the sky which should be easy enough.

So when did you take this; Sept 29th? If so, you were right about it being peak down there at the time.

Wow, you had quite the fall! I think these past two images you posted are perhaps your best two imaes ever. Too bad that by posting here they're now ineligible for the fall color contest (I think those are the rules anyway )

Awesome shot! Good work, Bryan!
Grant: actually theyre elligible for the contest, there apparently never has been a 'prior posting' rule.

I know, Stan, that was my attempt at a joke. And since I've been out shooting so little, I figure my only chance of winning is to resort to dirty tactics like this ... ...

Thanks all!

I appreciate it Grant, but I'm glad Stan busted your devious plot!!

What I really love in this shot is the depth that you capture with the clouds and the trees pulling you to the mtns in upper left. Great shot again!

Wow! This is one sweet shot, Bryan.

Beautiful shot! The combo of color, light, and setting is perfect.(the bright spots in the sky actually add to the shot!)

Wonderful image Bryan, great light. I agree with the small hotspots in the sky and a little bit of halos around the mountains but it really looks like the sun just set on the right - I wouldn't even it out too much.

Well seen :toast: :toast:

Thanks again all, and Craig btw it was taken on Monday the 29th.

This is crazy good! The variety of colors and their intensity really is a eye catcher...I don't ever remember seeing so much red in those aspen or the scrub oak as what is shown in the photo....you really caught it at a prime time.

Same comments as everyone else Bryan - outstanding!
You really were in the right place at the right time.

Bryan.... let me say it again like everyone... this is fantastic!!! :toast: :toast:

Great clouds, they really make for nice 3D effect, and then the colors. ...fantastic shot! :toast:

Fantastic light, color, and clouds. Very well done.

Thanks again guys, I've been really big on these post dusk shots lately. The color saturation is amazing when there is "no" light left in the sky.

Talk about everything coming together at once! Great shot Bryan.
