I really like walking the 5 to 6 year old clear cuts in the fall. So much color and contrast. I must have spent 3 hours just wandering around in this one near Matlock Wa. Not to many pictures, just enjoying the autumn. A little windy, so iso 400 at 1/1000 at f/4 at 200mm. C and C's welcome.

Ciff,
I think this is a nice find. The contrast between the old branch and the background really makes this stand out.
There is a different amount of background focus which I kind of would like to see be all in or our of focus. Overall though, very nice!
Very pretty and autumnal, Cliff. I like the white snag in there for contrast; it's unique. With reference to Erik's comment, it seems to me that the bg and fg are nicely demarcated, though some of the darker bg tree trunks/branches tend to lead the eye a bit. I'd maybe camouflage some of the darkest ones and definitely the one on the left that comes very near to the tip of the snag.
Now I can't wait to get out myself and start looking for the Fall color spots. Thanks for the inspiration.
