Not so many years ago the local council decided to put in a breaker of granite boulders at the foot of the local cliffs. Birds seem to love perching on these boulders, and foraging between them, which was just what this robin was doing when I found him this afternoon. We have had a bit of an influx of autumn migrants over the last few days, and in between feeding he was warning off the incomers.
Nice to hear birds singing again after the summer, and there is something very autumnal about robin song to my ears.

nicely timed David and the Robin's colours stand our very well against the grey rocks. A simple but striking image.
