In the Last week of October, I will probably visit New Forest for a holiday. Can anyone give me information about particular spots to watch and photograph Red Deer and/or Fallow Deer? I'm also wondering if the Red Deer rut is still going on in that period? Thank you in advance.

The main red deer enclosure in the New forest is a bit of a hot topic - as I understand the situation there, there is no general public access and it is actively wardened against tresspass, especially at this time of year
I have stumbled across Fallow deer in the past, I'm not sure there is any one spot particularly good for them, but others more local may know of hot spots
The 'meadow' itself is fairly uninspiring, but if you walk through the surrounding woodland early in the morning (before the noisy tourists arrive!) you may come across the deer in more pleasing surroundings.

Thank you for your information. I will certainly try the locals.
This may help for the Fallows: http://www.new-forest-national-park.com/bolderwood-deer-sanctuary.html

Hope that helps.
