Just wanted to share a bit of a fantastic light show!
The other morning, when photographing a scene from the eastern White Mountains of NH, I observed, for a fleeting minute, some of the most remarkable light I'd ever seen.
Snow showers were falling over the higher peaks to the north and west, and the first rays of sunlight, refracting in the snow, turned a magnificent pink and purple tone unlike anything I'd seen. I turned my camera...marginally composed, and while scrambling for a real composition, it disappeared.
Across the mountains, a hiker (bristlecone by online name) was catching the same sunrise on his camera...from inside that refracted light show. I'm not sure I would have believed his images were ever possible if it weren't for my experiences and shot...but they were simply stunning!!!
Post this to one of the galleries Jim, and it will get the attention you want.

Hi Hank,
I didn't want to post this to the galleries, because it's not really about my picture...more the view from inside the light I captured from afar. Might take your advise though...

For some reason I'm getting an invalid link message when trying to view the images?

In winter, we often get purple light here in the Dakotas. Sometimes the sky will turn blood red too. That then reflects on the frozen lakes as huge pools of red. Must have something to do with the angle of the sunlight and ice crystals in the air.
